This program, focused on psycho-spiritual Plant Medicine Healing, will be firmly grounded in the basics of Ethical Wildcrafting, Medicine Making, and Plant Identification. It is designed to be a transformative, initiatory experience that will reawaken and strengthen our experience of deep plant/human relationships.
Each month we will explore a different landscape; immersing ourselves in the healing power and teachings of the plants. We will sit each day and commune with one or two of our native Plant Teachers, learning about them as we learn about ourselves and each other, participating in rituals that will open new channels of healing potential. These once-a-month trips will range in length from 3-8 days.
This course will offer a structure for each of us to do our own deep healing work and to hold space for others to do the same. As we deepen our relationships with the plants, we will not only be learning about ourselves but will aid in the process of reawakening and illuminating the beings who are responsible for giving us life.

It is my mission in life to reestablish a connection with the plants of the Cascadia bioregion. I have been sitting with and studying the medicinal plants for many years now, allowing them to interweave their energies with my own. Allowing them to enter my nervous system and traverse the energetic pathways of my body. In this way the plants have healed me and become my teachers. They have accompanied and guided me on my path of transformation. I invite you to join me in allowing them to do the same for you.
Join me each week as we explore the physical and psycho-spiritual properties of a different native NW plant. After a short discussion of the previous week's plant and a centering meditation, unlabeled bottles of tincture will be passed around. We will each taste the plant and sit in meditation−making note of the smell, flavor, and taste sensations and the ways we are effected by the plant. We will share our experiences, and at the end of the night I will reveal the plant's identity, and we will discuss its traditional uses.
On the last Tuesday of each month, we will work with a toxic or low-dose plant whose identity will be revealed in advance. To receive updates on these or other classes, subscribe to our Mailing List.

Illuminating Ourselves ~ Illuminating the Beings of the Forest
This group meets weekly to deeply explore working with plants on a psycho-spiritual level with an emphasis on ceremony and calling in the spirits to support and guide the work that we do. We usually spend several weeks with each plant meditating and working with them in ways that are appropriate for each specific plant (e.g. connecting to the ancestors or allowing the healing energies of the plant beings work through us.)
This group is for people with previous experience working with plants on a deeper spiritual level. This means that you've been coming to the Tuesday night groups or have participated in similar type of work elsewehere. If you are interested in joining, please call Scott at (503) 522-6906 or email to set up an interview. If there aren't any openings at the time your name will get put on a waiting list.
The Plant Teacher Group Manifesto
We do this work to strengthen our ability to connect with the spirit realm and to learn about ourselves; to see how our psyches operate and to reveal and energetically transform those parts of ourselves that get in the way of connecting on a deep level with our true Selves and with the spirits of the plants.
We do this work to develop deeper relationships with our guides and to be more firmly grounded in ourselves so that we are able to contain and allow stronger healing energies to move through our beings.
We do this work to support each other as we learn to establish these relationships, channel these energies, and create and hold sacred space.
And most importantly, we do this work to illuminate the plant spirit beings-to feed, honor, and support them; to give back to them for all the healing, nourishment, and wisdom that they have offered humans; and in doing this, we help them to be more accessible to all of humanity here on the material plane.

This land vibrates with medicine−a wisdom and a strength that is available to all. Medicinal plants are here in abundance awaiting our return. As physical manifestations of the spirit forces of the land, they have the potential of being our most profound teachers. It only takes a small shift of consciousness, a slight turn of the dial, to reopen the channels. When we open ourselves to receive these teachings, we not only heal ourselves, but we make these healing forces more available to the earth, our families, our community, our society, and all of humanity.
In this class, we will learn ways to understand plants on a deeper level as we do an in-depth meditation with a plant and explore other modes of "seeing." This is a great way to open yourself to the teachings of the plants and to deepen your relationship with one of the Northwest's major medicinal herbs.

Same as above but spread out over four weeks. Each week we will discuss a different topic and do an in-depth meditation with one plant. A great opportunity to deepen your relationship with four of the Northwest's major medicinal herbs.
- The Heart as an Organ of Perception
- Herbal Energetics
- The Doctrine of Signatures
- Plant Provings

By embodying the essence of a plant's energy, we can tap into its intelligence and wisdom and explore healing and wholeness in a way that uniquely arises from a communion of consciousnesses. After establishing a relationship on this level, we are able to hold space for others to do the same.
In this class we will learn to work with Plant Spirits in a way that supports our own healing and that of others. We will discuss the body's innate healing wisdom and learn ways to establish relationships with Plant Teachers in a way that engenders a deep and true healing that reconnects the soul with the greater spirit.
