Scott Kloos is a Plant Medicine Practitioner, Medicine Maker, and Wildcrafter, and has been working with the native plants of the Pacific NW since the late 90's. In addition to many years of self-study, he completed the 1999 Herbal Apprenticeship Program at the Herb Pharm in Williams, OR, and in 2000, he attended a nine-month Community Herbalist Training Program with Christopher Hobbs. In 2009, he studied Traditional Western Herbalism: An Intuitive and Energetic Approach with Matthew Wood in Portland, OR.
He spent seven years studying the human psyche (his own and others) in Paul Levy's Awakening in the Dream group. Paul's unique synthesis of the Dzogchen School of Tibetan Buddhism, Western Alchemy, Jungian Psychology, the Dreambody Psychology of Arnold Mindell, and shamanism deeply shaped his view of the world and his approach to healing and working with plants.
He is the owner of Cascadia Folk Medicine, which produces small batch herbal extracts from the native plants of the region. In his healing practice he works with the psycho-spiritual aspects of plant medicine and leads weekly Plant Teacher classes exploring the physical and psycho-spiritual properties of the plants of the Pacific Northwest. He is one of the founders and a faculty member of the Elderberry School of Botanical Medicine in Portland, OR, and a faculty member of Matthew Wood's School of Traditional Western Herbalism.

Laura Robbins began her studies in Western Medicine in Nursing in 1992 and slowly moved to herbs, meditation, yoga and reiki when she noticed the ineffectiveness of much allopathic medicine in helping her and others heal.
Along with beginning to focus on herbs, in 2003 she devoted herself to a yoga practice and began meditating regularly. Through the support of her practice, she began to notice the plant she meditated near everyday was interacting with her, and so grew a slow awareness of plant consciousness. In 2005 she studied Vipassana meditation in Thailand and began strengthening a connection to spirit through the patient rigor of meditation.
Over time, the desire to meditate and the desire to learn to heal with plants came together. In 2006 she graduated from the NW School of Botanical Medicine under Jo Powell, who gave her a strong foundation in medicine making and harvesting, and in 2008 she took a short course and joined Scott Kloos in his weekly plant meditation group. Here the beauty and power of the consciousness of plants became the clearest for her, and she continues to be amazed each week when she becomes still and feels the truth of the plants. Finding there is no better teacher for her to heal or open to truth, she remains devoted to connecting to plants and their wisdom.
